In late 2010 Zoro Tools was little more than a logo doodled on the back of a napkin. No product. No space. No web presence. Today Zoro Tools offers over 300,000 items, is preparing to leave its original space for a larger, more accommodating facility and is enjoying dramatic, double digit sales growth driven by active customers in every state (and yes, every state includes alaska and hawaii).

To support our growth in 2012 we are specifically looking for a Python/web developer to add to our group of four located in our Mundelein, Illinois facility.

In this position you will use effective Python and web coding to help optimize customer acquisition and retention results. These results will be driven largely by your contributions in one (or more) of four key areas:

Python Development
You live by the Zen of Python and PEP-8 (really, what more do you need?), and your deep knowledge of Python and handling data as well as your working experience with Linux/UNIX and cloud based systems will allow you to help shape the architecture and dataflow of a site with over 300,000 products and traffic that doubles every three months.

Web user interface
Your strong knowledge of User Interface design and appreciation for the user experience
along with your knowledge of HTML5/CSS3/jQuery will make our customers come back to zorotools.com just for the pure ease of it. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with an international web development team dedicated to experimentation and testing.

API
Your idea of fun is creating a mash-up no one has ever thought of before and your experience with Python / Java / SOAP / REST will help us ensure that all of our systems continue to communicate with each other in glorious harmony. Like the movie says, “One band – one sound.”

Analytics
Your experience with A/B testing, predictive modeling and analytics will allow us to predict what our customers want before they even see our site, helping to optimize every aspect of our online presence from pricing and conversion rates to navigation, layout, and design.
